It was a pleasant spring evening at Yowie Bay at Tara<\/strong>‘s where we were enthusiatically welcomed by Lenin<\/strong> the Basenji – he whispered in my ear while balancing on the back of the lounge – a psyco cutie of a doggie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Genelle <\/strong>has upset the apple cart by winning both games, so she overtakes Tara<\/strong> and Rob<\/strong> (only 5 points between those two) to go to the top of the class by 85 points – and there’s only one meet to go. It will take at least a main game win by one of those immediately below to topple GG <\/strong>off the top perch. Matt <\/strong>in 4th place also scored two helpings of points to put him within easy reach of a trophy – even a very slim chance of winning 1st place. There is a big 135 point gap between 4th and the rest, so it seems the trophies will be hard fought between Genelle<\/strong>, Tara<\/strong>, Rob <\/strong>and Matt<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Phase 10<\/em> went well, although there were some contradictions between different versions of the rules – for example; runs may or may not be a single colour, and Skip cards may be awarded to anybody, or only to the next player in turn. It was Pete’s first time at Yahtzee<\/em>, but he picked it up pretty quickly. There was not a single Yahtzee scored by anybody, nor did anybody get the 35-point bonus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Louise<\/strong>, Wayne <\/strong>and Peter<\/strong> all WHP<\/em>, and Nicole <\/strong>was unavailable. We’re hoping that Nicole will hang in there until her rumoured return to Sydney happens next year. It will be interesting to see who is awarded the Wooden Spoon<\/em> this year – Peter<\/strong> is currently running last by 100 points behind Wayne<\/strong>, but may be able to avoid that Spoon depending on the month of his first meeting attendance, remember Rule 7.5, aka the Rookie Protection Rule, only applies to late joining members.
