Nicole <\/strong>was our host at the Jannali Gamerdome on an early Spring evening – just a bit chilly , just a bit rainy. We played an oldie, Hey Presto!<\/em> – the El Prez original about magic tricks, the stealing and hoarding of them. This was followed by Nicole<\/strong>‘s Hues & Cues<\/em>, a game which I believe favours the girls due to their superior perception and naming of colours. I’m sure there were at least two colours mentioned tonight that I had either never heard of, or that I thought were sea ceatures. Wayne <\/strong>in particular had great difficulty with the concept of colours that weren’t either red, green, yellow or blue, and he was particularly offended by the lack of black or white on the board.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Hey Presto!<\/em> was led from start to almost finish by Rob<\/strong>, but by finishing with only one cheap magic trick in his collection his lead vanished as the values of collected tricks were added to the scores at the end. Pete<\/strong> was the clear winner with almost double the score of Louise <\/strong>in 2nd place then Nicole <\/strong>3rd. The championship ladder shows the relentless rise of Tara<\/strong>, her score increasing steadily ever since March, then regaining the top spot from Louise <\/strong>in May and hanging on to it ever since. Hues & Cues<\/em> required some re-familiarisation, but it went off smoothly apart from the way out names of some colours. At the end Tara <\/strong>was the clear winner with Louise<\/strong> and Matt <\/strong>tied for 2nd, so a Colour-off was held and won by Matt<\/strong> who was quite chuffed to win some points from a game based on colours.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
