With a heavily pregnant\u00a0Tara<\/b>\u00a0also in attendance, we have two simultaneous special dispensations in force for rule 7.8.1 violations. Remember during Tara’s previous pregnancy we amended the wording at rule 7.8 to say\u00a0“Unless there are extenuating circumstances as decided by the membership at the time<\/i>” to allow temporarily shape-altered women to avoid shirt penalries.<\/p>\n
The 2018 season got off to a bit of a slow start with everyone re-learning\u00a0Sherlock Holmes<\/i>\u00a0as if we’d never played it before. At one point when\u00a0Wayne<\/b>\u00a0urged everyone to play faster (“C’mon, a fast game’s a good game!” he said),\u00a0Rob<\/b>\u00a0replied with “Do the words pot, kettle and black ring any bells for you?” El Prez was rewarded with a\u00a0WHP<\/b>\u00a0score for this month.
\nIt seems we always need to have the\u00a0Sherlock\u00a0<\/i>rules handy when we play, so those rules will soon be available via a link on the Games List page, and Gill suggested we might keep multiple printouts of the most looked-up pages in the package with the game. Good idea Mrs Wilson.<\/p>\n
Tara seemed to be under the spell of pregnancy hormones and not playing up to her usual standard, although she did manage 3rd in\u00a0Slapzi<\/i>. Those hormones haven’t kicked in for Gill yet, she scored 50 points for 2nd in\u00a0Sherlock<\/i>\u00a0which was won by Rob.\u00a0Louise<\/b>\u00a0was not feeling 100% but soldiered on and made a good start in her quest to rid herself of the dreaded Spoon by winning\u00a0Slapzi<\/i>\u00a0– a new game introduced by\u00a0Genelle.<\/b>\u00a0Speaking of new games, Genelle gave us a quick preview of another new one called\u00a0Digit<\/i>\u00a0which will be played as a backup at Rob’s in February.\u00a0Mark<\/b>\u00a0also scored points by getting 3rd place in\u00a0Sherlock.<\/i>\u00a0Our new member\u00a0Jordan <\/b>was not in attendance, SBGA was trumped by the Australian Open tennis at which he is a spectator.
